Gem Star is a price list service for our team and the trade partners we invite (people and businesses who buy from or sell to us). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Gem Star runs on UnitBay, which hosts the app and its data for us.
Information we collect
- Your account: your name and email address from Google when you sign in, your role, and the account (ours or your own client account) you belong to.
- Invitations: the email address, name and role someone enters to invite you, before you first sign in.
- Your settings: how you want notifications (email, WhatsApp or none) and, if you choose WhatsApp, your phone number.
- What you create: for clients, your price rules, prices you set by hand, your list layout and notice, and the business name if you give one.
- Basic technical data: sign-in cookies that keep you signed in, and standard server logs from our hosting providers.
How we use it
- To let you sign in and show you the price lists your role allows.
- To work out prices from the rules we and you set.
- To send the notifications you chose, by email or WhatsApp.
- To let you download your own price list as Excel or PDF.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Our admins can see every account, its people and its rules, to run the service and help you.
- In a client account, the owner can see and manage the people they invited.
- Clients never see our market prices, our rules, or other clients' data.
- UnitBay, which runs Gem Star for us, can access it only to run and support the service.
Service providers
Gem Star runs on UnitBay, which looks after hosting, sign-in and email for us. They process data only to provide their service.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you have access. If your access is removed, or you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal reasons. Price history is kept to show changes over time.
Your choices
- Change your name, notification settings and WhatsApp number in Settings at any time.
- Turn notifications off by choosing "Off" in Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by email.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Important changes will be shown in the app.
